The Quiet Work Behind a Bottle

It's been a while since I last wrote here.

Not because there was nothing to say, but because wine has a way of filling your days with quiet work. Vineyard visits, tasting sessions, small decisions, unexpected challenges and long periods of waiting.

Much of winemaking happens away from the spotlight, and perhaps that's one of the things I love most about it.

That said, there are moments when the journey feels difficult, moments that make you wonder whether you are on the right path at all. Just as in other parts of life, there are twists and turns that force us to pause and question ourselves.

Finding small sources of motivation during those moments often helps us find our way back.

What matters, I think, is holding on even tighter to the thing you truly care about. For me, that is wine and winemaking.

Of course, we may stumble from time to time. But not giving up may be one of the most valuable qualities we can have.

Over the past six months, our long-awaited 2024 vintage was finally bottled. Compared to the previous year, it shows a rather different profile, and we closed the vintage with only 276 bottles.

Between harvest and bottling, we lost nearly 140 litres along the way, a reminder of how demanding and unpredictable this craft can be, and how much patience it asks of those who choose it.

Meanwhile, Sorvo has taken another small but meaningful step forward. Our wines are now available online and can be delivered to wine lovers in more than 50 countries around the world.

The next step is bringing Sorvo 2024 to Lisbon, finding wine bars and carefully curated spaces where people can discover and enjoy boutique wines made with care and intention.

Slowly, one bottle at a time, the journey continues.
